Number of heavy goods vehicles in Great Britain 2022, by years
At some 134,800 units, the majority of heavy goods vehicles in Great Britain in 2022 were first registered between 2009 and 2016. By contrast, only 90,270 vehicles still on British roads were registered before 2008. In general, there is an upward trend in number of licensed heavy goods vehicles as the age increases, and this peaks at heavy vehicles aged between six and 13 years old.
