This statistic shows the number of licensed heavy goods vehicles in Scotland from 1995 to 2017, in thousand vehicles. The number of vehicles was increasing between 1995 and 2006 when it peaked at over 38 thousand. After that, it started to drop, albeit with only a minor decrease. There was an increase of approximately 700 vehicles from 2013 to 2014. In 2017 the number of vehicles reached its peak again with 38.2 thousand HGVs.
