That same year, global GDP amounted to more than 72 trillion U.S. dollars - with the exception of 2009, global GDP has been continuously increasing each year over the past decade. Based on purchasing power parity, Indonesia's share in the global GDP is significantly higher than that of other major economies, and in 2014 was almost on the same level with France and higher than the UK's share.
According to a forecast by Goldman Sachs, Indonesia will be among the 15 countries with the largest gross domestic product worldwide by 2030.
In addition, the gross domestic product per capita in Indonesia has also undergone a rapid increase. Over the past decade, GDP per capita in Indonesia has quadrupled, a remarkable feat seldom seen in any economy.
