U.S. internet users searching for key medical information online by insurance 2012
This statistic displays the percentage of U.S. adult internet users who have looked online for medical information in the last 12 months in 2012, based on those that are insured or uninsured. Of the adults with insurance surveyed, 17 percent reported looking for information on drug safety or recalls. The internet has become a diagnostic tool for about one-third of adults in the United States. Women and younger adults are more likely than men to use the internet for a possible diagnosis.
