U.S. adults experience consequences of not getting enough sleep 2013
This statistic displays the proportion of U.S. adults that reported select consequences based on whether or not they receive at least 8 hours of sleep per night as of 2013. Of those who received less than 8 hours of sleep per night, 40 percent reported that stress has increased in the past year. However, stress can impact overall health despite a lack of awareness. High stress can weaken the immune system and cause exhaustion in the body. Work is one of the most common sources of stress for adults.
