Whereas more than 60 percent of the respondents in Canada saw good opportunities to start a business in their area in 2023, just above half in the Untied States did the same. On the other hand, only half of the respondents in the U.S. said they believed they had the capabilities needed to start a business, compared to 57 percent in Canada.

Perceived capabilities reflect the percentages of individuals who believe they have the required skills, knowledge and experience to start a new business.
The measure of fear of failure (when it comes to starting your own business) applies to those who perceive opportunities only.
