Rate of mortality to bladder cancer incidence in England in 2016, by region and gender*
* Information from the source: "Cancer registrations in England can take up to 5 years after the end of a given calendar year to reach 100% completeness, due to the continuing accrual of late registrations. Therefore, published figures for 2016 are likely to increase in future publications when late registrations are included. The 2016 data has been assessed as 98% complete and there are likely to be late registrations provided after this publication."
Cancer mortality to incidence ratios are calculated by dividing the number of deaths by the number of incidences for each given site, sex and region. If the rate exceeds 1, this means that more people died in that period than there were new registrations. The people who died, however, may have been diagnosed in a previous period. In other words, the deaths are not necessarily directly linked to the incidents.
Bladder cancer medical term = malignant neoplasm of bladder.
