Before 2023, Google's Diversity Annual Reports identified Googlers as “Tech” and “Non-Tech” based on their product area alignment. Starting in 2023, the company shifted to identifying Googlers as “Tech” and “Non-Tech” based on their job role. This new classification better reflects the actual work that Googlers perform.
