Following their acquisition of the Ei Group, Stonegate became the largest pub company in the UK with 4,708 pubs throughout the country. They were followed, respectively, by Mitchells & Butlers plc, JD Wetherspoon, and Whitbread.

When looking at the largest selected pub companies in the UK by total revenue, restaurant, pub and bar operator Mitchells & Butlers plc recorded the highest revenue in the 2019/20 financial year, generating almost 1.5 billion British pounds. Meanwhile, pub chain JD Wetherspoon came second in the ranking with a revenue of 1.26 billion British pounds. Stonegate came in third with 707 million British pounds.
