This statistic shows the results of a survey question, asking grocery shoppers in England to state whether they typically planned purchases of different bread or baked goods in advance or typically bought them on impulse. The results showed that consumers were more likely to plan bread purchases, such as sliced bread, rolls and wraps, in advance, while sweet products such as waffles, pancakes and scones were more likely to be purchased on impulse. Other products, such as french breads and bagels were less clear cut in their results, with just under half claiming they planned to purchase such goods in advance.
