The leading sports brand in the United Kingdom in 2019, in terms of BrandIndex score, was Adidas. From July 2018 to June 2019, the multinational sportswear manufacturer Adidas had a BrandIndex score of 29.8; slightly more than its closest competitor Nike, which had an index score of 28.7.
Sporting goods retail revenues
Having dropped at the start of the decade, revenues in sporting goods retail in Europe seem to be increasing again. In 2017, the total revenue in Europe for sporting goods stood at 37.5 billion euros.
Leading brands in the UK
Of the ten most valuable brands in the UK in 2019 in terms of value, none were sporting goods brands. Telecommunications company Vodafone had the highest value, at 26.5 billion U.S. dollars. Then came banking and financial services giant HSBC, and in third place came oil and gas company Shell.
