Whiskey in the United States

Jack Daniel’s American was the leading brand of whiskey in the United States, while Crown Royal Canadian ranked a close second. Each of the brands’ sales numbers reached over 300 million U.S. dollars that year. Jameson, an Irish brand, stood in fifth place, generating just over 150 million U.S. dollars’ worth of sales.

U.S. whiskey consumption

Americans most typically consumed whiskey in December: total U.S. whiskey consumption amounted to just over seven million 9 liter cases that month. Almost two million of those consumed cases were filled with Canadian whiskey specifically. While Irish whiskey was also most commonly enjoyed by U.S. consumers in December, it was also typically consumed in March, the month in which St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated.
