Until 2020, the number of passengers arriving and departing at airport terminals in the United Kingdom (UK) more than doubled, increasing from 105.7 million in 1992 to 296.7 million in 2019. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the number of passengers experienced a significant decrease of more than 75 percent, resulting in 73.67 million passengers in 2020 and a further decline to 64.26 million passengers in 2021. Nonetheless, in the year 2022, this number experienced an increase and amounted to approximately 221.7 million passengers at British airports.
