Fraud incidents at retailers and wholesalers in England and Wales 2018, by size

This survey shows the number of fraud incidents experienced at wholesale and retail premises in England and Wales in 2018, by business size. The figures include fraud committed by employees, unknown persons and others. In the 12 months prior to survey, retail and wholesale premises employing 10 to 49 members of staff experienced a total of approximately 200,000 incidents of fraud. This number was much greater than companies with more than 50 employees, where the total number of incidents reached 133,000.
