Leading soft drink brands in the United Kingdom 2018, by grocery sales volume

For the grocery sales of soft drinks, private label products had the largest sales volume with 2.24 billion liters in the United Kingdom during 2018. This constitutes an increase for the category from last year where 2.18 billion liters of private label soft drinks were sold through grocery channels. Coca Cola was highest selling brand with 752.65 million liters sold. Compared to sales in 2017, Coca Cola saw a decrease of approximately 28 million liters.

Sales values and convenience sales

While the volume of sales of private label soft drinks is almost three times that of Coca Cola, sales values paint a different picture. Sales of private label products amount to only 1.5 times the sales value of Coca Cola branded soft drinks. When considering convenience sales volumes, the Atlanta based company even outsell retailers own label soft drinks by a sizeable amount.

The soft drink consumption in the United Kingdom is slightly down. Especially cola carbonates and juices have seen a declining market share, while Bottled water and energy drinks are growing categories.
