In 2024, Home Depot’s appliances product category generated global sales of 14 billion U.S. dollars. Meanwhile, the company’s lighting net sales amounted to roughly 4.2 billion U.S. dollars. Headquartered in Georgia, United States, The Home Depot, Inc. is the largest home improvement corporation in the United States.

Home improvement and hardware stores

With almost 5,000 retail stores, Ace Hardware had the highest number of home improvement outlets located in the United States in 2023. The Home Depot accounted for less than half that number. In terms of customer satisfaction, Menards took the lead with 678 out of 1,000 points, as reflected in a 2024 survey. The Home Depot earned a score of 665, just below industry average. 

Home improvement projects

Among the main reasons for kitchen and bathroom renovations in the U.S. was the fact that people were no longer happy with the appearance of their previous kitchens/bathrooms. According to a surveys conducted in July 2024, 41 percent wanted to renovated their kitchens for that reason, and 47 percent wanted to spruce up their bathrooms.
