This statistic presents the performance of various futures in 2014. Futures are financial contracts which oblige the parties signing them to sell (or buy) a given asset on a specified date and for a predetermined price. It was observed that the coffee future had outperformed other futures, with a 52 percent return rate in 2014. The worst performing future in that year proved to be the crude oil future, which lost 45.4 percent of its value.
