Sustainable retail models have become increasingly more important to U.S. shoppers. According to a December 2019 survey, 53 percent of Generation Z shoppers felt that Amazon included excess packaging with shipments. Among all groups of respondents, Generation Z was the only group with more than half of respondents feeling that Amazon's packaging was excessive. Only 36 percent of Baby Boomers stated the same.
