Countries with the highest travel and tourism employment worldwide 2019-2023
China was the country worldwide with the highest travel and tourism employment in 2023. That year, the travel and tourism market generated, directly and indirectly, nearly 77.5 million jobs in the Asian country. This figure, however, remained below pre-pandemic levels. Meanwhile, India and the United States followed in the ranking in 2023, with roughly 43 million and 18 million total travel and tourism jobs, respectively.
