This statistic illustrates the share of consumers who wrote checks in the United Kingdom (UK) from 2008 to 2018. The general trend of personal check payments was gradually falling throughout the period under observation; the decrease was greatly aided by the advent of new mobile payment technologies. In 2008, 62 percent of responding consumers reported writing checks. As of 2018 this share had decreased to 31 percent.
