This statistic shows the number of new rooms added to hotels in the United Kingdom (UK) in 2012 and 2013, based on whether the hotels were undergoing rebranding, refurbishment or being newly opened. 7,659 new rooms were added in 2013, roughly twice as less as in 2012.

* Survey of a representative cross-section of 456 hotels with a total of 78,228 rooms, of these 152 hotels in London and 304 in the rest of the UK.
Hotels closed for refurbishment or newly opened during the last five years were not included in the survey.
