Number of visits by UK residents to Europe 2011-2022
The number of visits by residents of the United Kingdom (UK) to Europe grew sharply in 2022 compared to the previous year, after shrinking with the onset of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Despite the annual increase, outbound trips from the UK to European countries remained below pre-pandemic levels, totaling just above 56 million in 2022. That year, the number of overseas visits from Europe to the UK also rose sharply, without catching up with pre-pandemic figures.
