Revenue of British Telecommunications (BT) FY 2013-2024, by quarter
The total revenue generated by British Telecommunications (BT) in the third quarter of the financial year 2024, ending December 2023, amounted to around 5.34 billion British pounds. This represents an increase compared to the previous quarter as well as the same quarter of the previous year. The company’s net profit in that quarter amounted to around 476 million British pounds; however, unlike the company’s revenue, this marked a decrease in profits compared to the same quarter in the previous year.
Consumer segment leads BT’s revenues
During the third quarter of FY 2024, BT’s consumer division generated around 2.56 billion British pounds, maintaining its position as the company’s most significant revenue source. The consumer division of BT encompasses its fixed-line, mobile, and entertainment offerings for private individuals and households.
Moreover, BT has full ownership of Openreach, a vital component of the UK’s fixed-line and telephony network infrastructure. Openreach not only manages broadband access for BT customers, but also generates substantial revenues, ranging from 1.2 to 1.5 billion British pounds each quarter. This significant revenue stream is expected considering that nearly a quarter of all broadband subscriptions in the UK are from BT.
