During the most recent survey period in the second quarter of 2017, it was found that 59 percent of smartphone owners reported having used a smartphone to visit social networking websites, while 73 percent used their smartphone to read or send emails. Use of instant messaging serves such as BBM was the second least popular activity among smartphone owners, with 22 percent.
