Monthly non-food retail sales value growth in Great Britain 2016-2023
This statistic shows the percentage change in the amount spent (sales value) in predominantly non-food stores monthly in Great Britain from January 2016 to August 2023. The sales value of non-food store retailing fell sharply during coronavirus lockdown, recording a 54 percent decrease in April 2020 compared to a year earlier. After leveling off in September and October 2020, value of sales dropped again through November 2020 to February 2021. Sales value in this sector increased significantly in April and May 2021, realizing as a 87.4 percent increase in May 2021, compared to the same month of previous year. As of August 2023, value of sales in predominantly non-food stores increased by six percent compared to a year earlier.
