This statistic displays the most popular UK news and current events websites ranked by the number of users in April 2013, April 2014 and May 2014. The BBC website ranked first among news websites in April 2013, April 2014 and May 2014, with 17.21 million users in the month of April 2014. This shows a downward trend for the BBC and a loss of 796,000 users. More up-to-date numbers on the number of unique audiences for the top 20 news sites shows the BBC in the lead in March 2015 with sizable gains from the previous year. Data for the reach of newspapers and their websites in December 2016, excluding websites without a print version such as the BBC, shows the Daily Mail website at the top with 17.6 million print and online readers reached. A look only at newspaper websites monthly visitors shows the telegraph.co.uk at the top for 2015 closely followed by the daily Mail.
