It was calculated that in 2022 the value of mergers and acquisitions in the media industry dropped to 30.9 billion U.S. dollars, from over 196 billion recorded a year earlier. The hike in 2021 was most probably caused by the industry's sharp recovery after the coronavirus outbreak.
