Ice hockey is a popular sport in Finland. The Finnish Ice Hockey Association, a member of International Ice Hockey Federation, exists since 1929. It is estimated that there are roughly 200 thousand people in Finland who play ice hockey as their hobby. Some of the best known Finnish ice hockey players include Teemu Selänne, Jari Kurri, and Saku Koivu.
