The number of surgical and nonsurgical cosmetic procedures carried out in the United States increased significantly from 1997 to 2022. In 1997, there were 900 thousand surgical procedures in the United States, while in 2022, there were over 1.87 million. Nonsurgical procedures have considerably outrun surgical procedures. In 2022, just over 7.3 million procedures involved toxins and fillers in the United States.
