The value of venture capital fundraising in the United States experienced considerable fluctuations between 2004 and 2023. In 2023, U.S. venture funds raised 66.9 billion dollars across 474 funds. This was a steep decline from the record number of 172.8 billion in 2022.
Venture capital is a form of financing of young, innovative, non-listed companies that, despite low operating revenue, are considered to have an above-average growth potential. Fund raising refers to collecting money from private, institutional or equity investors.
