Petrobras generated some 102.4 billion U.S. dollars of revenue in 2023. This was a decrease compared to the previous year, when the company had generated revenues of more than 120 billion U.S. dollars. In addition to being one of the largest oil producers worldwide, Petrobras is also one of the most valuable Brazilian brands.

In July 2019, Petrobras sold a further portion of their interest in BR Distribuidora, and since August 2019, BR Distribuidora’s results are being disclosed as an equity-accounted investment. The statements of income for 2018, 2017 and 2016 were revised accordingly to reflect this classification.
