This graph shows the different reasons single mobile users in the United States gave for texting during the courtship process, divided by gender. Of the women and men surveyed, 20 percent used texting as a manner of letting the other person know they were thinking about them. Little more than 10 percent of the men surveyed responded that they used texting as means of flirting with their potential partner-- 15 percent of the women responded that they had the same reason for flirting.
