This statistic shows the results of a 2014 survey of UK respondents regarding their TV and online video on-demand use and online video purchasing (via electronic sell through), by genre. Of respondents who had ever used TV VOD, 53 percent reported having ever accessed UK TV dramas via TV VOD.

Online VOD: Includes any VOD content accessed from any device but a TV set top box. Devices included are: desktop/laptop PC, smartphone, tablet, games console, Smart TV or Blu-Ray Player and Apple TV. This only includes content which is either accessed for free or rented but not permanently kept (as opposed to EST).

Electronic Sell Through (EST): Includes any EST content accessed from any device but not a TV set top box. Devices included are: desktop/laptop PC, smartphone, tablet, games console, Smart TV or Blu-Ray Player and Apple TV. This only includes content which is purchased and a copy is permanently kept (either locally or digitally stored) but not accessed for free or rented.
