Worldwide fuel ethanol production climbed to over 29.5 billion gallons in 2023. This was an increase of nearly 1.4 billion gallons compared to the previous year and the highest figure on record. Ethanol is one of the most common types of biofuel consumed and it is derived primarily from crops such as corn.
