In the last two decades, renewable energy consumption in the Asia-Pacific region has experienced exponential growth.

Renewable energy in this statistic is based on gross generation from renewable sources and does not account for cross-border electricity supply. Converted on the basis of thermal equivalence, where "Input-equivalent" energy is the amount of fuel that would be required by thermal power stations to generate the reported electricity output.
