There were 116 million mobile subscriptions in the United Kingdom as of 2023, up from 111.7 million in 2022. The majority of these, 84.3 million, were mobile handset subscriptions, while almost 5 million were dedicated to mobile data alone. A further 25 million were M2M (machine to machine) subscriptions, which have accounted for a growing share.
