This statistic features the results of an online survey conducted by The New England Journal of Medicine in January 2013. Journal readers from several countries were asked if they woud support government regulation relating to the consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages. In total, some 68 percent of respondents indicated to support regulations such as limitations on portion size or soft drink taxes made by the government.
