Italy: motor vehicle sales by type 2005-2023
In 2023, Italy's auto industry sold over 1.79 million motor vehicles, 87.2 percent of which were passenger cars. Total new vehicle registrations in the country had grown by 19.24 percent year-over-year, due to increased sales across categories. Italy remained the fourth largest vehicle market in Europe in 2023.
