Aviation is regarded as one of the most polluting industries globally. Therefore. The reduction of carbon dioxide emissions in the aviation sector has been a significant goal since the signing of the Paris Agreement in 2015. Recently, the Lufthansa Group has been very committed to reducing the emission levels from its operations. The company plans to upgrade their airplane fleet and use sustainable aviation fuel to reach zero emissions by 2050. In 2023, Lufthansa Group produced emissions of 88 grams of carbon dioxide per passenger kilometers, which was the lowest since recent years. In addition, the companies' fleet was 13.4 years old in that year.
