ExxonMobil's Downstream division generated a net income of 2.1 billion U.S. dollars, up from a net loss of around 1.1 billion U.S. dollars. 2020 was the first year in the 21-year period shown that the company reported a net loss for its downstream business. The coronavirus pandemic has had a huge impact on the oil and gas industry, particularly on transportation fuel demand. ExxonMobil is a United States-based multinational oil and gas corporation headquartered in Irving, Texas.
In April 2022, ExxonMobil reconfigured its divisions, and the Downstream and Chemical businesses were combined to form the Product Solutions division. Accordingly, the Downstream division as a discrete entity no longer exists.
