Global shipbuilding order book 2022, by vessel type

Container ships were the most sought-after vessel type in 2022 with some 1,031 orderbook ships worldwide, most of them ordered in China. While the number of tankers in the global order book decreased between 2022 and 2021, the number of container ships grew by nearly 37 percent.
