In 2022, the Japanese equipment manufacturer had a market share of four percent in the global construction machinery market. This was significantly lower in comparison to their competitors, such as Caterpillar, and Komatsu, both of which reported a double-digit market share.

Hitachi’s best performing division was the connective industries segment, reporting a revenue of about 3.06 trillion Japanese yen in fiscal 2023. This was followed by the green energy & mobility segment, with a revenue of roughly 3.05 trillion yen in the same period.
