A survey conducted among Chinese millionaires in early 2024 revealed that around 62 percent of respondents chose Sanya as their preferred domestic travel destination. This destination was most popular among 56 percent of respondents in a similar survey a year earlier.

The respondents' average age was 36 years old, and the average household assets of respondents were 45 million yuan. 
The average number of real estate owned by respondents was three, and the average living space was 270 square meters.
