Shell’s number of shares amounted to roughly 6.1 billion in 2024. This was a decrease compared to the previous year and also the lowest figure in the period of consideration.

Shell increases dividends pay-out

Since the financially turbulent start to the decade, Shell has begun increasing its dividend pay-outs. Between 2021 and 2024, the value of dividends paid grew by roughly one fourth, reaching 8.67 billion U.S. dollars in 2024. That same year, the earnings per share stood at 3.76 U.S. dollars, a decline from 4.2 U.S. dollars a year before.
