The Cigar Lake mine in Canada, owned by Cameco and Orano, was the world's highest-yielding uranium mine in 2022. Cigar Lake mine produced a total of 6,928 metric tons of uranium that year, and thus was the world's top uranium mine based on production. That was a 14 percent increase, from the mine's production in 2021, which amounted to 4,693 metric tons of uranium.
