In 2013, PwC conducted a survey of businesses around the world, and asked them what the greatest obstacles were with respect to implementing effective information security policies and actions within their company. More than 24 percent of respondents identified insufficient capital expenditures as a significant problem.

* The survey included readers of CIO and CSO magazines and clients of PwC. In total 9,600 CEOs, CFOs, CISOs, CIOs, CSOs, vice presidents, and directors of IT and information security from 115 different countries.
