In 2024, social media was the leading digital advertising format in India that accounted for nearly 145 billion Indian rupees of digital ad expenditure. It was closely followed by the online video format that contributed to 28 percent of ad spending that year. The overall digital ad expenditure in 2024 amounted to more than 400 billion rupees.
