The U.S. per capita consumption of fresh avocados amounted to approximately 9.22 pounds in 2022. In 2021, some 72 percent of U.S. grocery shoppers who participated in an annual consumer survey, reported the "good fats" associated with avocados as one important driver for the purchase decision.
