Apples and bananas are the most consumed fresh fruit per capita by American consumers. Since 2000, the per capita consumption of fresh apples has fluctuated between about 15 and 19 pounds per consumer each year. In 2022/23, 15.77 pounds of fresh apples were consumed per consumer.
