Here you can see the results of a survey question asking U.S. TV viewers if they would be interested in accessing additional information/ social interaction via a separate device while watching TV. The responses are broken down by TV program genre. The survey found that 35 percent of respondents said that they would be interested in using another device to find additional information related to their TV viewing when watching a drama or comedy. On the other hand, 23 percent of reality TV viewers said the same. In the season 2010/11, reality TV had the largest share of primetime TV programming.

During the survey, this question was posed as follows: "Considering your answers to the prior question, for what TYPES OF TV CONTENT would you like to access this type of information/interactivity?" The previous question was as follows: While watching TV content on a TV, computer, mobile phone, etc., which of the following would you be interested in doing AT THE SAME TIME ON ANOTHER DEVICE (such as a computer, mobile phone, tablet/iPad)?
